Kids Robotics Camps will be starting this October. Let us know if you are interested in a one time Robotics Camp. If we can get five or more kids interested we will set up a convenient time. Kids will make a robot and learn to communicate with robots. Send us your thoughts!
Versa Botix pre-teen classes are for kids 9 years old to 12 years old. Teen classes are for kids ages 13 to 17. Each Versa Botix course module includes module supplies. The course stack is broken into three sections: 🟪 refers to robot mechanics modules, 🟩 refers to robot circuitry modules, 🟨 refers to robot programing & AI modules.
1. What is a robot? We look at a variety of robots and examine how they work.
2. Explore mechanics related to robots and how to make a robot move.
3. Explore fun facts about robotics
4. Make a cam & shaft driven robot to understanding a mechanical build.
5. How do we know? We learn how a robot thinks and relates to the world.
1. Learn about movement by wire and how to use it to develop a robot
2. Multiply imputes with a string robot
3. Explore hydraulics and movement
Make a hydraulic claw and robot wrestle with a buddy
5. Coding concepts 01
1. Learn about stored energy robots
2. Make a robot test vehicle using rubber to store energy
3. Build a robot using wind as an energy source
4. What is needed to make a robot move independently?
Coding concepts 02
1. Learn about battery power and make a lemon battery
2. Discover the DC motor and how it works
3. Take a quick look at electrical circuits
4. Make a battery operated robot or two
5. Coding concepts 03
1. Take a more in-depth look at electrical circuitry
2. Combine gears & DC motors to make a slackline robot
3. Learn about using breadboards to develop circuity
4. Make a gear driven robot car
5. Coding concepts 04
1. Build breadboard circuits to make a fun robot car
2. Explore the Arduino micro controller
3. Tinker with components and sensors
4. Write your first few programs
5. Coding concepts 05
1. Learn more about electrical circuits and components.
2. Wrap our heads around the robot brain using an Arduino micro controller.
3. Write a program to control servos and motor speeds.
4. Put our code to the test in a robot.
5. C++ simple coding
1. Build out our robot chassis
2. Wire the robot
3. Setup our Arduino micro controller brain
4. C++ simple coding
5. Make an obstacle avoidance robot come to life.
1. Build out our robot chassis
2. Wire the robot
3. Setup our Arduino micro controller brain
4. C++ simple coding
5. Make a human following robot come to life.
1. Learn about AI vision and the PIXY
2. Learn how to setup PIXY in class (PIXY is sold separately if you want your own.)
3. Setup our Arduino micro controller brain & wire up our robot
4. C++ simple coding
5. Make an obstacle avoidance robot come to life.
This class will be at a local park and will show off the students Robotics projects. There will be robot races, shows and battles.
